Le foglie, tipiche del Pelargonium zonale, sono di piccola dimensione e di un colore scurissimo, quasi nero, che aggiunge un tocco di mistero.

I fiori di 'Steffens Blackie' sono semplici e di un elegante color rosa cipria, che crea un contrasto sorprendente e raffinato con il fogliame scuro.
