Pelargonium x ardens is an attractive primary hybrid , perfect for collectors and enthusiasts alike, noted for its rosette-like growth and fiery red flowers.
Hybridized in 1810, it derives from a cross between P. fulgidum x P. lobatum.
Description
Description
The leaves are lobed, with serrated edges of a grey-green colour, in the shape of a rosette.
The flowers are small jewels to admire, simple, about 0.5 cm in size, of an intense burgundy/black color with vermilion red edges. This combination of colors creates a surprising visual effect and is always in demand by plant enthusiasts.
Since it is a winter-growing plant, it is important to pay attention to the rest period to ensure optimal growth where watering should be reduced.
Year of introduction: 1817
Breeder: Lee Hammersmith
