'Ashai' , meaning "Morning Sun" in Japanese, is a striking Aspidistra . Its leaves, about 60 cm long, are a beautiful dark green, with tips characterized by a brush stroke of pure white. When the new leaves emerge, the white is particularly intense, then fades over the course of the season. To best express this distinctive feature, it is important that the plant is not divided or disturbed for at least three years.
Aspidistra are better planted in shady and cool positions, both in pots and in the open ground, where they can create surprising combinations thanks to their leaves.
