Bletilla striata ' Kuchibeni ' is a fascinating horticultural variety of Bletilla striata. This species is renowned for its cold hardiness and ease of cultivation , making it particularly popular with both novice gardeners and orchid enthusiasts. Its versatility allows it to be grown successfully both in pots and in the open ground .

Description

This terrestrial orchidIt has erect stems that carry white delicate flowers with a labellum of intense colours that vary from pink to purple. Its flowering is elegant and abundant, while the leaves are oblong, narrow, folded and a bright green.

  • Blooming period: V-VI (May-Jun)
  • Exposure: prefers sun or partial shade
  • Soil: well drained
  • Height on delivery: adult plant or rhizome (if dormant)
