Bletilla 'Penway Long Stem' is one of the tallest terrestrial orchids, growing up to 90cm tall in soil. This species is renowned for its resistance to cold and ease of cultivation , making it particularly popular with both novice gardeners and orchid enthusiasts. Its versatility allows it to be successfully grown both in pots and in open ground.

Description

The flowering of this orchid is a real wonder that lasts for several months, abundant and scalar. Delicate flowers 3-4 cm in diameter, bloom in a cascade of deep pink, embellished with a labellum that shows off an intense yellow spot and edges suffused with fuchsia. Its leaves long, slender and of an intense green, with a narrow and folded shape, they wind elegantly giving a touch of refinement to any environment.

  • Soil: well drained
  • Height on delivery: adult plant or rhizome (if dormant)

The plants are mature and well developed with several growth points.You will receive flowered plants (or about to bloom), if the purchase occurs during the flowering period. If it occurs during autumn and winter, the plants will be dormant and you will receive a pot with dormant rhizomes.
