Questa pianta è vigorosa e generosa, e si distingue non solo per il suo bel fogliame verde scuro, ma soprattutto per l'aspetto lucido che presenta. I fiori, a forma di tulipano, sono di un intenso color rosso.

Può capitare che alcuni rami producano fiori aperti, consiglio di rimuovere prontamente il ramo interessato in modo da preservare la caratteristica della pianta.
