Questa pianta vigorosa si distingue per le sue foglie carnose da P. peltatum, verde medio e leggermente irsute. I fiori stradoppi, di un intenso color rosso sangue con riflessi neri, ricordano i Rosebud, creando un effetto visivo dove appaiono come vere roselline.
